The loop starts at the hiking parking lot north of Wolkenwehe.
A highlight is the priory of St. Ansgar (Nütschau) with its Renaissance manor house and eventful history. A stone plaque from the 15th century commemorates the former owner of the complex, Count Heinrich Rantzau, who is regarded as one of the pioneers of the Reformation. Today, however, the estate is owned by the Catholic Church.
