In Himmelreich you can follow the long-distance hiking trail EB (Eisenach-Budapest), also called the Path of Friendship. From the opening in 1983 until the fall of the Iron Curtain, it was the only cross-border long-distance hiking trail in the GDR. The EB is a cult among hikers and is still well hiked today.
