The partial stage begins in Olbernhau in the Ore Mountains, which is now one of the most beautiful places on the Silberstraße. The route then leads in a south-westerly direction to Cranzahl. The Mothhäuser Heide to be crossed is the oldest moorland and protected area in the Ore Mountains and presents itself to MTB riders as an extensive high moor landscape.
