Loop
Panoramic loop in the Saxon Switzerland National Park, Saxony.
This tour is through the beautiful Saxon Switzerland and runs through varied landscapes. However, it is quite long, which is why a certain level of fitness and hiking experience should be brought along.
This extensive hike begins in the south of the idyllic village of Hinterhermsdorf. From there, the Dorfbachweg leads into the Kirnitzsch valley, where you follow the course of the river of the same name for a while. Turning left at the Dreisteinbrücke, the path leads to the old arsenal, where you can stop for refreshments. Strengthened, we continue on the Königsweg with great views. After wonderful views, it goes to the next highlight, the Großer Winterberg. From there it goes down through the longest dry valley in Saxon Switzerland, the Großer Zschand. The technically somewhat more demanding Reitsteig leads to the Großer Edelweißturm in many hairpin bends. The path leads back through the valley to the Kirnitzsch, which leads to the end of the route, the Hohweg, to the starting point.
Highlights of the hike:
- Beautiful views
- Varied hike
- Path along the Kirnitzsch
- Great winter mountain
- Big Zschand
