Parking is available nearby in the parking lot at the Bürgerbrücke. Those arriving by public transport should get off at the Gimritzer Damm stop. It goes to the beautiful Peißnitz island, which is surrounded by the Saale. Here you can take some time to discover the area with its cafés and playgrounds. If you want, you can make a detour to the climbing park and Gimritzer Park in the south. You can stop off in the Peißnitzhaus or in the garden restaurant, next door there is the Bashkir playground for the children. Then it goes on to the "mainland" to Giebichenstein. Past the church and through Thomas-Müntzer-Park, through Reichardt's garden and to the castle. You can reach the other bank of the Saale via the Giebichenstein Bridge. Follow the valley road and then the Wilden Saale back to the starting point. There are numerous places to stop along the way.
