The loop starts at Nachterstedt railroad station and leads around Lake Concordia. Lake Concordia is the largest artificial lake in the Harz foreland in Saxony-Anhalt. The lake is popular for kite surfing.
The SEELAND project aims to restore the landscape of the former Nachterstedt and Neu Königsaue open-cast mines in today's Salzland district, which was shaped and altered by lignite mining, by recultivating it and making it usable for both business and tourism.
On the north side of the lake, near the village of Schadeleben, visitors can enjoy a lovingly landscaped lakeside promenade with connections to the D3 and R1 cycle paths.
