This beautiful hike was developed as a joint project between the municipalities of Beckingen and Losheim am See. One highlight is the legendary Odilienquelle spring with the Gothic-style Odilienkapelle chapel. According to legend, the water from the spring is said to alleviate eye problems. This legend goes back to the story of the Alsatian Duke Eticho, who is said to have rejected his daughter, who was born blind. A nurse saved the child and brought her to the Parma monastery, where Odilia is said to have regained her sight after her baptism. Every year, there is a procession from Wahlen to the spring on Whit Monday.
