The circular route begins at the parish church of St. Wendelins in Kirmutscheid, which was built in the 13th century. Along the Wirftbach, the path leads to Witt and the Dreimüllerhof in the direction of Barweiler Mühle. The climb up to the pilgrimage site of Barweiler began through mixed and fir forests. You walk through the idyllic village with a view of the pilgrimage church of St. Gertrud, along the Way of the Cross to the “Hömmerich” viewpoint. From here, you will be rewarded with great views of the Vulkaneifel, the Schneeeifel and the Ahr Mountains. The path then leads through the forest back to the starting point in Kirmutscheid.
