Officially certified premium hiking trail in the Hunsrück-Hochwald National Park, Rhineland-Palatinate.
The tour starts at Forellenhof Traunthal and leads around the village of Börfink in the Hunsrück-Hochwald National Park. The circular route gets its name from the tour highlight, the Ochsenbruch nature reserve in the north-west of the tour. The nature reserve consists of moor areas, arnica meadows and cotton grass. Beautiful views are guaranteed along the entire route. At the end point you can stop off at the Forellenhof Traunthal.
Due to its location, this tour is ideal as a day trip from Saarbrücken or Mannheim. There is a car park at the starting point; but no direct public transport connection. The trail marking shows the symbol of the Saar-Hunsrück-Traumschleifen hiking network in purple.
