Beautiful forest loop trail around Neustadt an der Weinstrasse, Rhineland-Palatinate.
The circular hiking trail Weinbiet - Wolfsburg leads from Neustadt an der Weinstrasse up to one of the highest mountains in the Palatinate Forest, the Weinbiet. In addition to a children's playground, the summit offers an observation tower from which the entire surrounding area can be overlooked. The route then leads back to Neustadt an der Weinstraße via Wolfsberg Castle.
The route starts at the train station in Neustadt and leads up through the city in the direction of Haardtrand-Schlossberg. There it goes past the forest park with the former Wolf'schen facilities, which are now considered a lost place. Through the forest it continues steadily uphill to the Weinbiet. There you can enjoy the beer garden in the Weinbiethaus with a refreshing drink (note opening times).
The descent leads past the Schuhbaum and the Stone Table to the next highlight - the Wolfsberg castle ruins. This is a former high medieval noble castle high above the Trubach valley. From there it goes back to Neustadt.
