MTB Tour 3: Schopp

Official route of the Pfälzerwald mountain bike park. The start of this great tour is Schopp railway station, so it is easy to travel there by public transport. The cycling stadium in the municipality of Schopp is also located on this varied tour. It can look back on a long cycling history. The careers of cycling greats such as Udo and Hardy Bölts began here. In 1971, RV Schopp built a cycling track on which international-level track races have been organised for decades. The town has also become a top international address in the cross-country sector thanks to the perfect organisation of 3 national mountain bike championships. Schopp hosted the "Germans" for the first time in 1995. Due to the selective course, the fantastic start and finish area in the cycling stadium and the large, knowledgeable crowd of spectators, only three years passed before the small village in the Western Palatinate was once again chosen as the venue for the national championships. Tour 3 is quite challenging with steep climbs, trail descents and flowing passages. There is a café near Trippstadt Castle where stopping for refreshments is possible.
