Moselsteig Stage 15: Zell (Mosel) - Neef

This route follows stage 15 of the Moselsteig, connecting the wine town of Zell (Moselle) with the idyllic village of Neef on a wonderfully varied and forested section. The hike requires some stamina right at the start for the steep climb up to the prominent Collis Tower, but rewards the effort with a breathtaking panorama over Zell and the Moselle loop. The trail then leads through expansive, peaceful forests and vineyards that offer recurring views back toward the Marienburg, the Prinzenkopf, and Arras Castle, before concluding in the wine village of Neef, which is famous for its culinary delicacies made from the red vineyard peach. Overnight stays are available in the hotels and guesthouses in Zell or at the cozy wineries in Neef; wild camping is prohibited. Refreshments can be found at the Collis Hütte (seasonal) as well as in the local restaurants of both towns. Transport is excellently provided, as Neef has its own train station on the Moselle line with regular connections to Koblenz and Trier, while Zell is connected to the Bullay transit hub via regional bus lines; schedules and transit information can be found at https://www.vrt-info.de.
