The starting point of this hike or mountain bike tour is the village of Engeln (alternatively: start at the Vulkan-Express train station in Brohl and train ride to the starting point in Engeln; see waypoint on map). From there it goes past the Engeln sand pit, up to Ohlbrück Castle, on a detour to Königssee and on to Rodder Maar. From there you can hike or cycle back to the Rhine Valley. A very varied, but also quite sporty hike due to its length. There are restaurants in Brohl.
