The loop begins at the car park very close to the Gethsemani monastery. It leads through the forests in the Spendel-Wildenstein nature reserve and between the Donnersberg and its neighbouring peak Signal. Close to the route, hidden in the forest, are the remains of Wildenstein Castle, which can be visited.
