This beautiful hiking trail in Kindsbach near Landstuhl follows mostly scenic forest paths south of Landstuhl, around the village of Melkerei, to Nanstein Castle. Built in the 12th century, it developed into a mighty fortress and was one of the earliest castles in the Palatinate. Today, it is open to the public free of charge. The starting and ending point is at the beautiful Bärenlochweiher pond. There is a place to stop for refreshments there.
