Idyllic winter hike in the Eifel National Park.
This is one of the trails that are cleared fairly quickly by the park administration when it snows and are designated as official winter hiking trails. The route leads through a magnificent hilly landscape to the former village of Wollseifen. There the old school, the church and other buildings are still well preserved. Information boards give an insight into the history - the village had to be abandoned within 14 days because military exercises were to be carried out there.
There is free parking at the starting point. Equally hikeable in summer, but especially beautiful when the area is covered with snow.
