The second stage of the Winterberger Hochtour begins at the Astenturm and heads west. From the mountain station on the Sahnehang you have a wonderful view of the Hunau with the television tower (in clear weather). You hike through the idyllic Renau valley to the Renauwiese. In wet weather you should bring surefootedness, as it can get very slippery on roots and on footbridges. If you want, you can stop in Altastenberg and stop there; the hiking trail now follows the Astenweg (X14) to the Großer Bildchen.
