Idyllic Altenbeken loop near North Rhine-Westphalia.
The viaduct trail starts in Altenbeken and can be reached every half hour by train or streetcar from Paderborn. It starts right at a great highlight: an exhibited steam locomotive from 1941. The trail then leads along beautiful hiking trails around the town and offers the Great Viaduct, the largest limestone bridge in Europe, as a special highlight. The Mariengrotte grotto in Buke and the "Driburger Grund" adventure playground with barbecue hut as well as the Max and Moritz springs are further adventure stops on the viaduct hiking trail. Two geocaches can be found at Driburger Grund. The trail is marked with the sign "Viadukt Wanderweg".
