Along the Emscher to the Ruhr Zoo from here via the Erztrasse to the Jahrhunderthalle and through the south of Bochum, the Lottental to the Kemnader reservoir. A visit to the Kemnade moated castle is a must. Down the Ruhr it goes on to Essen Steele. From here uphill back through regional green corridors to the Gelsenwasserverwaltung.
