Picturesque, idyllic loop near Monschau in North Rhine-Westphalia.
This idyllic loop starts at the car park (parking for a fee) in Monschau and leads along the Rur to Höfen and through the Fuhrtsbachtal to the Eierbachtalsperre. Most of the hike leads through the forest - every now and then there are beautiful views of the region. The path leads towards Kalterherberg and from there past the Reichenstein Monastery along the Rur back to Monschau. There are numerous benches along the path that invite to linger and enjoy the view.
In Monschau and also on the way there are several restaurants and cafés to stop off.
