This route is stage 3 of the Hermannsweg, a long-distance trail through the Teutoburger Wald. This specific section begins in the center of Tecklenburg and travels southeast to the Kneipp spa town of Bad Iburg. The journey leads through fresh lime-beech forests and across the Tecklenburger Land plains before returning to the main mountain ridge. Hikers pass the village of Leeden and can take an optional detour to Lengerich to see its late-Gothic church. The path is famous for its woodruff-beech forests, wild orchids, and rare flora, offering expansive views throughout the climb.
