This legendary royal route is the longest and most challenging of the Guelph cycle tours and leads over 152 kilometers with 1,250 meters of cumulative ascent through the countryside of Lower Saxony. The route runs mainly on asphalted roads and paths south of Hanover and challenges even very enduring athletes. Although the route is not technical, its immense length requires extreme self-sufficiency and planning over several days. The name Guelph refers to the historic noble family of the Guelphs, a powerful dynasty that originated in this region and later provided the rulers of Great Britain.
