Ehringhausen - Schaberg - Unterburg

This loop explores the forested heart of the Bergisches Land Nature Park, weaving along the winding river slopes of the Wupper Valley between Remscheid and Solingen. Shaded paths guide hikers past dense broadleaf woods, rocky outcrops, and peaceful waterside meadows. A major focal point along the loop is the historic Müngstener Brücke, Germany’s highest railway arch bridge, spanning high above the valley floor. Farther along the route, paths ascend toward the perched complex of Schloss Burg, the ancestral seat of the Counts of Berg. Solid walking shoes facilitate a comfortable journey across uneven forest paths, root-covered tracks, and occasional damp ascents along the riverbanks.
