"Auf schmaler Spur": Höxter - Stadtoldendorf - Köterberg

"Auf schmaler Spur" is a route which, according to its name, leads along the narrowest and most winding country roads in the region around Holzminden. It starts in Forst, along the Weser towards Bodenwerden / Rühle. In Rühle, the route climbs up a well-paved serpentine road for the first time, into "Rühler Schweiz". From there you ride down to Golmbach in the direction of Negenborn. From there it goes up through the "Hooptal" to Stadtoldendorf. The route now leads through the fields towards Dassel. From here, the route climbs up into the Solling and passes Neuhaus, the hub of the Solling. From there, it's back down into the Weser valley before taking the next stretch up into the Solling. Now the route leads along the Weser towards Höxter with a short detour via Derental. After Höxter, the route first climbs up to Bosseborn and from there via Altenbergen/Vörden through the fields towards Köterberg. On the other side of the Köterberg, the route descends towards Polle. There you cross the Weser by ferry to get back to the starting point of the tour. Most of the roads are quite narrow and you cycle on paved forest paths in places.
