Alfeld - Himmelberg Mountain

Quiet circular route in Alfeld, Lower Saxony. This wonderfully relaxing route, far away from the hustle and bustle, is recommended for all nature lovers who enjoy walking alone in the countryside. The route starts at the parking lot and heads north through Langenbolzen and Sack to the Schiefer Holzer Weg nature reserve. The magnificent orchid blossom attracts hikers from mid-April to the end of May. However, many other beautiful flowers also bloom here in a protected environment. The trail continues into the Siebenberge area, then south to Himmelberg. You are accompanied by the Unterer Lauensberg nature reserve. Once you reach Himmelberg, you have the opportunity to enjoy a magnificent and far-reaching view if you are prepared to climb the 119 steps of the viewing tower. As compensation, you can see as far as Hamelin or the Brocken in the Harz mountains. Even on less beautiful days, you have a much better view of the Leine valley than from the densely wooded slopes. It's not far now and the beautiful hike comes to an end at the starting point.
