RTF Around Lüneburg – Route 153

The 153km route of the RTF "Rund um Lüneburg". This extreme endurance route follows a renowned 153-kilometre course of a cycle tour ride through the beautiful Lüneburg countryside in Lower Saxony. The route has been designed for the region's "cycling cracks" and goes along low-traffic side roads as well as some challenging sections with loose surfaces, which requires a high level of preparation and excellent fitness. Although the route is not technical, the immense distance through the Göhrde forest and along the unique landscapes of the Elbe valley floodplain requires a great deal of effort. Lüneburg, the starting point, is known for its historic old town and its former importance as a centre for salt production, the so-called "white gold".
