This almost 8 km long hike starts at the Oderteich and ends at the Naturfreundehaus St. Andreasberg. There is parking at the start and finish point. Arrival by bus is possible. The route is marked with a water wheel on a blue background and has places to stop for refreshments. At the end of the route, the ditch disappears into the mountain. Not only the idyllic surroundings are impressive, but also the history of the ditch. After many years of hard work, the watercourse was originally created to generate energy for silver mining. Due to the exemplary construction, the ditch still works, so that today 6 hydroelectric power plants are still operated by the flow.
