Fourth stage of the popular Harzer-Baudensteig long-distance hiking trail, near Bad Lauterberg in the Harz Mountains, Lower Saxony
This fourth stage leads from Bad Lauterberg to Bad Sachsa. Between the two spa towns of Bad Lauterberg and Bad Sachsa is the Wiesenbeker Teich, a reservoir created by Lauterberg miners a long time ago. Here you can rent boats and stop off at a booth before tackling the vertical meters to the Ravensberg. The 64 m high tower is striking. It served as a listening post during the Cold War. The Dreiherrenstein is just before the Ravensberg.
