Varied circular route through the Göttingen Forest near Göttingen in Lower Saxony.
This beautiful and varied route leads along beautiful forest and meadow paths to the ruins of the Kerstlingeröderfeld estate. A large area of forest was cleared in the Göttingen Forest around 1300 in order to gain arable land. A settlement was built in the middle of this cleared area. Today only the ruins of a large estate and the former stables and storehouses remain. This area is now a nature reserve.
