The loop trail Ni2 starts at the car park near Nienover Castle. You walk around the Schlossberg to the Carolinenteich and from there to the Hutewald and the Reiherbach valley. Exmoor ponies and aurochs graze the areas in a gentle manner and several information boards provide exciting information about the ancient form of forest management. Dogs are not allowed in Hutewald, particularly to avoid potentially unsafe encounters between aurochs and dogs. When leaving the Hutewald, please be sure to lock the gate again.
