This route follows stage 3 of the Weserbergland-Weg, connecting the Sleeping Beauty castle Sababurg with the Baroque town of Bad Karlshafen on a historic section. After visiting Sababurg and its adjacent primeval forest, the trail leads through the Reinhardswald forest via Gottsbüren toward Gieselwerder, the home of Snow White. Passing through the St. Georgengrund, the path eventually reaches the destination of Bad Karlshafen, known for its brine springs, historic town hall, and the Huguenot Museum; please note the current detour above Gieselwerder due to wind turbine construction.
Overnight stays are available in guesthouses in Gieselwerder or at the hotels and wellness resorts in Bad Karlshafen; wild camping is prohibited. To relax after the hike, the Weser-Therme spa in Bad Karlshafen is highly recommended. Public transport is available via buses to Hofgeismar or directly via the train station in Bad Karlshafen; schedules and information can be found at https://www.nvv.de.
