Von Willingen zum höchsten Berg Nordrhein-Westfalens

This hike leads from the Hoppeck Valley up to the Langenberg, the highest peak in North Rhine-Westphalia. Along the way, you’ll pass the historic execution site, a medieval court of justice that now stands as a peaceful spot in the middle of the forest. The trail winds through dense spruce forests and eventually reaches the vast high moor at Neuer Hagen. Here, the landscape impresses with rare plants such as mountain avens and cottongrass. From the summit cross on Clemensberg, a sweeping view of the Sauerland unfolds. Since the trails are natural, sturdy hiking boots make it easier to navigate the root-covered forest paths.
