This route is a certified premium hiking trail. Over 20 kilometers you always have to master climbs that demand a lot of stamina. However, you will be rewarded with a very varied nature; the often winding and sometimes quite steep paths lead through fields, meadows and forests. A highlight of the route is the Blaue Kuppe, an extinct volcano. You also pass the Lotzenkopf and the Leuchtberge with the Bismarck Tower. From there you have excellent views over Eschwege and the Werra valley.
