Demanding MTB route with historical sights near Grasellenbach, Hesse. The loop starts at the Nibelungenhalle in Grasellenbach and from there directly into the forest and uphill towards the Spessartskopf (547 m). At the Affolterbacher Hoehe (505 m) you will find the "oldest street sign in Germany": Carved in stone, the carters are asked to put on special wooden cycling shoes to protect the sandstone pavement and to drive carefully. Now it goes over the nature reserve "Rotes Wasser" up to the Spessartkopf. Here you will find the next attraction: the legendary Siegfriedbrunnen. It is here that the gloomy Hagen is said to have killed the hero Siegfried. We continue on gravel paths to the "Drei Eichen" forest crossing. In the picturesque Guettersbach you can stop and rest a little before starting the second half of the tour. Via Moesselbach it goes uphill again to Dachsberg. In the last third of the way you pass the Koehlerhuette and the fox oak. It goes back to the starting point via the tranquil Striethtal valley. Highlights of the MTB tour: - on the trail of the "Nibelungs" - Affolterbacher Hoehe with the "oldest traffic sign" in Germany - "Red Water" nature reserve - wonderful views - Refreshments
