Marburg - Teufelsgraben - Spiegelslust

Demanding mountain bike tour near Marburg, Hessen. The route first starts in Marburg Wilhelmsplatz, from where it goes a short distance along the Lahn and then over a road to the city forest. There is a first descent here before going back up over the dome of the cherry trail in the direction of Neuhöfe. Caution: Here you have to pass a narrow, blocked single trail on a steep slope. You continue through a beautiful section of forest and past the Dammuehle with beer garden. A few kilometers further you leave the Behring works behind you and turn left into the Teufelsgraben (attention: under the foliage there are sometimes quite large stones). After descending into the Teufelsgraben there are still some challenging climbs and no less demanding descents waiting. On the way back you pass some shelters such as the Marienhaeuschen, an old quarry, as well as the Behring mausoleum and two viewpoints (Friday temple and obelisk). After enjoying the view of Marburg and the Landgrave Castle, you take a few steps to access the slope. The path is characterized by very steep and sharp switchbacks.
