In Marburg, pass the Elisabethkirche, one of the first Gothic churches in Germany. A visit is worthwhile. Other notable buildings include the Alte Universität and the Pfalzgrafenschloss. At Ruttershausen, the Lahn has increased in size even further. You will see a cone-shaped mountain in the distance, at the top of which the castle Gleiberg towered over the hillside town. In Gießen we passed the tower of the old town church on the market and later a larger weir on the river Lahn. Then you come to Wetzlar Cathedral Square and the Kornmarkt with its old half-timbered houses. You will have a nice view of the Lahn, the old arch bridge and the cathedral in the background.
