This route is stage 1 of the Heidschnuckenweg, a long-distance trail through northern Germany, starting in Hamburg-Fischbek and ending in Buchholz in der Nordheide. The segment traverses the scenic Fischbeker Heide, characterized by rolling heather landscapes, pine forests, and glacial valleys. Hikers pass the Fischbeker Segelflugplatz for wide views toward the Elbe before crossing the border into Lower Saxony. The path leads through the dense mixed forests of the Harburg Hills, past the Karlstein erratic boulder, and into the traditional heath village of Langenrehm. After passing the historic windmill in Dibbersen and ascending Dangerser Berg, the route concludes through the Buchholz town forest.
