The Bremerhaven nature tour: water, wind and meadows. They emerged from the Weser water for the first time in 1739 - two sandbanks that have grown to become the largest nature reserve in Bremerhaven: The Luneplate. Only recently, the land with animals and rare plants worth protecting was bought from Lower Saxony. Because in the course of the port expansion, the Plate serves as an ecological compensation. The grassland area of 1,000 soccer fields is closed to motorists. That is why the Luneplate forms the heart of the nature circuit. But because Bremerhaven has a lot more green to offer, this tour is also wonderfully suitable for a cozy picnic. It starts at the main train station and thus the last opportunity to stock up on some refreshments for the time being.
