• Full trail closure: Due to the outbreak of African swine fever among wild boars in a section of the Lower Oder Valley National Park, access to this area has been restricted since July 11, 2026, and is expected to remain so until July 30, 2027.

Starting from Schwedt/Oder, the circular route leads through the picturesque floodplain landscape of the Lower Oder Valley National Park. The Old Oder accompanies the first part of the route to the South Flying Crane Observation Tower. The Lower Oder Valley National Park is one of the most species-rich habitats in Germany and is a paradise for water birds, which use the floodplain landscape as a breeding, resting and wintering site. The route then continues along the Oder to the Old Oder Arm and then back to the starting point.
