• Full trail closure: Due to the outbreak of African swine fever among wild boars in a section of the Lower Oder Valley National Park, access to this area has been restricted since July 11, 2026, and is expected to remain so until July 30, 2027.

Beautiful stretch of the Märkischer Landweg long-distance hiking trail (stage 8).
The eighth stage of the Märkischer Landweg begins in the Lower Oder Valley National Park. From here it goes to Schwedt an der Oder. You start on the beautiful hiking trail along the Stolper carp ponds. Soon after, the Hohensaaten-Friedrichsthaler Wasserstraße is crossed and a piece of the Oder-Neisse cycle path that runs along the top of the dyke is on the way.
