Beautiful hike in the Spreewald, Brandenburg.
The tour leads from Unterspreewald along the Spree-Dahme bypass canal to Märkisch-Buchholz and on to Halbe railway station. Start is in Neu Lübbenau (bus stop "Hauptstraße") and it goes along the Spree meadows and the Spree.
The Umflutkanal begins at the Leibsch weir. The route now continues along the canal to Köthener See, then around a swamp and back along the canal and partly through the forest to Märkisch-Buchholz. There are refreshment stops in the town centre.
The route continues down along the Dahme and up to Kirchsteig before the road bridge. From there, the route continues to Halbe railway station.
