The first stage of the Burgenwanderweg begins at the Bad Belzig train station. Before you set out on the official hiking trail out of town, you should of course definitely visit Eisenhardt Castle in town (you can easily get to Schloßstraße and the castle complex via Bahnhofsstraße). There is a castle hotel, a museum and a farm shop here. However, if you plan to walk the entire loop, you can save your visit to the castle until the end. To start the hike yourself, return to the train station. You leave the place past allotment gardens and have a beautiful view over the fields and up to the imposing Eisenhardt Castle. We continue through the foothills of a dry valley, along fruit trees and with a little luck you can spot some skylarks. It goes over Kranepuhl and the gentle hills of the Fläming landscape to the stage destination, Lühnsdorf. There you can stop at the Landhaus Alte Schmiede.
