This route follows stage 13 of the Berlin Wall Trail, connecting the Hennigsdorf station with Hohen Neuendorf on an 11 km (6.8-mile) historically significant section north of the capital. The hike leads across a bridge directly over the A 111 autobahn, which was originally built to relieve long-distance transit traffic heading toward Hamburg. Right at this location, the very last border checkpoint (Heiligensee/Stolpe) was put into operation before the fall of the Wall. From the end point of the tour, it is just a short walking distance to the Hohen Neuendorf train station.
