Start is at the "Wildbad Kreuth" car park, which is subject to a charge. There is also a public bathroom here. There are refreshment stops both near the starting point and en route.
The tour leads through the forest along the Weißach stream to Wildbad Kreuth. From there, it passes the ducal fish farm and soon the single trail branches off to the right directly along the Weißach. At Klamm, it turns left onto the 615a in the direction of Königsalm. After approx. 300 metres in altitude, the gradient decreases significantly and the route enters the valley floor. At the first junction, the route turns left to the alpine hut and follows a few small hairpin bends to the Königsalm. Now the ascent to the Schildenstein awaits. Along the way, there are always great views of the beautifully rolling landscape.
