This wonderful route is quite demanding, but rewards with magnificent views and beautiful nature. It goes over the Vorderer Kirchstein and via the Probstalmhütte, past the Edelweiß-Hütte and to the Längental-Alm and back to the starting point. The descent leads over a rather muddy meltwater riverbed, so waterproof footwear is a must on this hike.
The Hintere Längentalalm is open between mid-May and mid-October. The Probstalmhütte is open all year round for refreshments and overnight stays (see tips).
