Demanding loop near Ruhpolding in the Chiemgau Alps.
From Laubau (free car park), the trail leads through the front and middle Kraxenbachtal valley through the beautiful natural landscape with impressive waterfalls up to the Sonntagshorn. The section up to the Schwarzachenalm can also be easily managed by bike, before the ascent becomes steeper and includes climbing sections. There are sections up to difficulty level II. It is definitely recommended to be sure-footed and to have a head for heights. It is also recommended to bring a helmet for safety, but it is not absolutely necessary. The exposed climbing sections can also be overcome with a rope along secured bolts. In summer, the numerous pools invite to cool off.
It is nice to stop for refreshments at the Schwarzachenalm or the Alpengasthof at the starting point (see tips). The start can also be reached by bus to the bus stop Laubau/Holzknechtmuseum.
