Stage 1 of the “Salinen-Radweg” long-distance cycle path, Bavaria / Salzburg (Austria).
This is the first stage of the historic saltworks cycle path, which runs for around 130 km through the Chiemgau Alps and the Salzburger Land and connects the salt and saltworks towns of Rosenheim, Traunstein and Berchtesgaden as well as Hallein in Austria.
The first stage begins in Rosenheim and ends in Traunstein. Always cycling in the footsteps of salt, you pass cities such as Bernau am Chiemsee, Grassau and Traunstein, interesting from both a historical and a scenic point of view.
The start and finish point of this route can be reached by bus and train, and there are places to stay overnight as well as restaurants.
