Loop
Waterfall loop in the Nagelfluhkette Nature Park, Bavaria. This beautiful route lies in one of the last primeval forests in Germany. It starts at Oberstauffen railroad station. The trail heads east through the primeval forest-like Rainwald forest, on and on, directly to the Buchenegg waterfalls. These waterfalls plunge powerfully over 2 steps into the depths and offer a wonderful nature experience. As there are frequent ups and downs and the hike is sometimes quite steep and on slippery paths, good footwear and a good level of fitness are recommended. The hike is not recommended in wet weather (especially in spring and late fall). There is a rustic refreshment stop at Alpe Neugreuth. Highlights: - Waterfalls - great views - rainforest
