Mountain bike tour in the Spessart Nature Park, Bavaria.
Biking in the Spessart is the motto of this circular route. This route is characterised by the view of the Main, the vineyards and the steep mountain flanks towards the Main.
The route leads along natural paths to the donkey trail. The route follows this on the ridge to the refuge. From here, you need to concentrate. A steep trail - the SH trail over steps and rocks - ensures that this tricky descent is never boring. Once the bottom is reached, there is a traily section until the next ascent up to the ridge of the Langenberg. The next highlight of this tour awaits - the Dönertrail with tight bends, small berms and small drops. Now it's time to take a breather until the Klotzenhof will be reached. Here opens an option of stopping for a bite to eat or riding down into the valley on an alternating trail and natural path. After crossing the state road 2441, there is a steep ascent to the motortrail area in former quarries and further up towards Roßhof.
A narrow side road is now the feeder road to the Busigberg and thus the last and most difficult descent. On a narrow, steep trail over rock formations and small rock steps, the route leads back down into the Main valley to the starting point.
Highlights of the route:
- View of the Main valley, Odenwald and the vineyards
- Sea of rocks
- Varied route
