Challenging hike up the Plankenstein, Bavaria.
This dream tour leads from the car park at the Hufnagelstube to the Plankenstein. Firstly, the route heads towards the Rodelsteinhütte, from where it continues towards the Rottachalm and Röthensteinalm. From there, the route continues uphill, first to the Röthenstein summit and then to the Plankenstein at 1768 metres. From here marvellous view of the surrounding area will open up. The descent is via the Riedereckersattel, past the Riedereckersee lake. Shortly before the end of the tour, the route passes the Sieblialm. A special highlight of this tour is the Silbe waterfall.
The route is also a popular ski route in winter. Without skis, poles and crampons are highly recommended!
